Sometimes, pure avoidance is not enough, and engagement with an opponent is unavoidable. However, attempting to perform an aikido-based technique on a moving opponent can present challenges if tori/nage tries to execute the technique as if uke is stationary (or not really attacking). This class uses a few techniques drawn from the shared basics of aikido and Cuong Nhu to explore the challenge presented by controlled but determined opponents. Students should be comfortable with forward and backward roles and side drop.
