Learn the skill to make applications on the fly. Work on starting points, drills, and frameworks to help build the skill of applications. Bring weapons needed for any applications you want to work on.
Basic side drops, rolls, take down and pins. Much of this will start from kneeling position.
As martial artists we move our bodies in ways that are unique and different than other physical activities. Our warm up should match that uniqueness and be specific to what we are preparing ourselves to accomplish. This class will offer a science based approach to warm up that is functional, effective, and efficient. This approach helps tailor warm-up to the direction of the class planned. Come learn foundational principles of warm up and how to apply those to the specific needs of your class to make warm up more dynamic and fun.
Participants get to explore the many aspects of doing kata. The variety will add fun to your workout AND make it more interesting to those watching (important when doing public demonstrations!) Fast, slow, hard, soft, loud, quite, ebb, reverse, group vs solo, etc. The last portion of the class each student will work on their last test kata and demonstrate it the rest of the class. We will start with a brief warm-up for safety.
Similar to 'Sticky Hands', this class will allow you to learn how to spar safely without sparring gear. This is a good intro for anyone who may be hesitant about sparring.

This class will identify key concepts and applications of the Centerline Principle followed by a breakdown of the kata. The kata portion will break into two groups for students learning the kata and students who are seeking fine adjustments.

Learn (or review) Nhu 1 kata, while learning to feel and embody the dynamic flow and power of soft style movement.
