We have members travel from all around the world to attend IATC each year. This year, training camp will take place in Raleigh, North Carolina, so attendees flying in should book flights to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (airport code: RDU). The airport has been recently rebuilt and we are sure you will find the new airport beautiful and easy to navigate.
Airlines that service RDU are: Allegiant, Southwest, Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, United, and US Airways.
If you have a smart phone and don’t want to wait for the shuttle, there are lots of Uber drivers available at RDU airport. If you’ve never tried Uber before, sign up at https://www.uber.com. The ride from RDU to University Towers is normally around $15.
Shuttle service from Carolina Livery will run continuously from RDU Airport between noon and midnight on Thursday. If you come in before or after these times, you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to University Towers near the NC State campus.
If you come out of Terminal 1, turn immediately LEFT and wait for the Carolina Livery bus near the end of the terminal (the bus is too big to pick up anywhere else).
If you come out of Terminal 2, turn immediately RIGHT and stay on the sidewalk. DO NOT CROSS THE STREET! Go down to the end of the terminal (toward the smoking area!!!) and wait for the Carolina Livery shuttle.
RDU Airport is not very big, so there is little chance of you getting lost. You will easily see the Carolina Livery bus as it arrives. Stay in the general area of your respective zone and you will see others waiting — or if you’re the first, others will arrive soon after. Relax and wait. The bus will run as often as it can from noon to midnight and will probably get delayed and run slower when rush hour begins. If call us to see what’s going on, we will probably not be able to tell you anything except “wait and it will come.” If you don’t want to wait and decide to take a taxi from the airport, it will cost you around $30 – $35 dollars.
A shuttle bus will run from University Towers to RDU Airport starting at 4AM on Monday and ending at noon. Once at IATC, please find Rosanne McDonald and give her a general idea of what time you need to get to the airport on Monday.
For those travelling to IATC by car, parking will be provided in the University Towers garage (111 Friendly Drive, Raleigh, NC). Please respect the rules of the road and drive safely.
